Pianist Chad Edwards has been active in the LA area jazz scene for over four decades, having performed with jazz greats Phil Upchurch, Lee Konitz, Bill Watrous, and many others. While at Princeton University, he played with the jazz-rock band Spiral, as well as with guitarist Stanley Jordan, and then co-founded and toured with the fusion band Slow Burn after moving to LA. You can hear his work with the retro-jazz quintet Zen Dadio in the Academy Award-winning motion picture American Beauty.

His self-titled CD "Resolution" received critical acclaim, featuring a mix of original compositions and fresh arrangements of jazz standards. Currently, he is playing with the San Gabriel Seven jazz band in LA, a tight ensemble with rhythm section and horns, with whom he has recorded a series of albums with a number of outstanding jazz vocalists, including Femi Knight, Andrea Miller, Katie Campbell, and Sinne Eeg.

When he’s not playing music, Chad holds down the “NASA day gig” at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, figuring out how to talk to spacecraft at Mars and beyond.
